A man who spiked treats with sedative and distributed them to youngsters at a youth camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual crimes against two young males who were between nine and ten.
Jon Ruben was arrested after eight youngsters and an older person became sick at Stathern Lodge in July.
The senior citizen, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he was present at the courthouse on the end of the week.
Yet, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was charged with, which was against a young boy.
Ruben was kept in jail prior to a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, described Ruben's offending to the judicial body.
She explained his targets were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer program which he managed.
The man played a "sweet game" with the minors, Mrs Prior said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to consume candy "rapidly".
She told the court Ruben had conducted this practice with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously become sick the subsequent day.
She said the defendant had been successful in rationalizing this over a long period as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had concerns in recently.
The legal representative added: "This year his stepson had worries about what was going on, for good reason.
"They chose" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor stated materials including lubricant, ointment and injection devices were discovered, and his stepchild contacted the authorities about his suspicions.
She stated the defendant went on to play the "treat game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"The police had not gone out by that time," she continued.
The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was reviewing the police response of the events.
Mrs Prior said the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the stepson notified the police a second time.
She said Ruben then played the "sweet game" in a space of five youngsters.
